Explanation

A co-production is a film or series jointly produced and financed by two or more parties — typically a streaming platform and a local broadcaster or studio in another country. Co-productions allow streaming services to reduce costs, access local production expertise, and qualify for regional tax incentives. They also typically grant both parties distribution rights in their respective territories. Many acclaimed international series including Squid Game and Money Heist originated as broadcaster-streamer co-productions.
