Explanation

Subtitles are text overlays on video content that translate or transcribe dialogue and sometimes other audio elements. Foreign-language subtitles translate dialogue into the viewer's language. SDH (Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing) also include sound effect descriptions. All major streaming services offer extensive subtitle options.
