Content Aggregator
streamingA platform that brings together content from multiple streaming services into a single browsable interface.
Explanation
A content aggregator is a platform, app, or device interface that collects and presents content from multiple streaming services in a unified search and browsing experience — without the viewer needing to switch between individual apps. Apple TV's universal search searches across Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, and dozens of other services simultaneously. Amazon Fire TV's home screen aggregates content from all installed apps. The Roku home screen offers cross-service search. JustWatch is a dedicated aggregator app (not a streaming service itself) used by 40 million monthly users to find which service carries any given title. Content aggregators do not host content — they link to the original service for playback. Aggregators reduce subscriber churn by making it easier to find content across services rather than canceling a service when a specific show ends.
