About ARD Mediathek
ARD Mediathek is the on-demand streaming platform of ARD (Arbeitsgemeinschaft der öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunkanstalten der Bundesrepublik Deutschland), Germany's consortium of public broadcasters. It provides free access to content from Das Erste and ARD's nine regional broadcasters (BR, HR, MDR, NDR, RBB, Radio Bremen, SR, SWR, WDR). Content includes news, documentaries, dramas, entertainment, and selected sports events. The platform is funded by the German public broadcasting fee (Rundfunkbeitrag) and requires no subscription. ARD Mediathek is geo-restricted to Germany due to licensing agreements.
